Xbox Countdown Sale Week 2: Our Picks

Overcooked, DOOM, Tomb Raider and more slashed
When there is a digital sale that’s worthy of your time, we want to let you know.
The first week of deals brought some really solid deals. The Xbox Countdown Sale week 2 is now on. It finishes on the 9th of January, so grab a bargain while the going is good.
For me, week 1 of the deals meant finally purchasing The Witness, which I am absolutely loving, and Jase’s recommendation, Firewatch.
This second week has some good deals, but more so on full retail type games.
Versus Player’s top pick of the Xbox Countdown Sale week 2 would have to be Overcooked. Jono and Jase had this game in their top 3 games of the year. You can listen to our GOTY Roundup, Ya Filthy Animal podcast to hear why we all love the game so much.

I’d also recommend DOOM, which I gave an honourable mention to for making you play so aggressively, rather than the standard hide until your health revives. Jono would tell you to pick up XCOM 2, which was one of his top 3 games of 2016.

Again, there are games on sale on the Xbox 360 side of things as part of the Xbox Countdown Sale Week 2 as well. Assassin’s Creed Rogue, Catherine, Ducktales: Remastered (in my top 3 of old games played in 2016), GTA: San Andreas, Hitman: Blood Money and Portal 2 are some of the standouts, with many being backwards compatible.

Thanks to Xbox’s very own Major Nelson for the list. Check out the Xbox dashboard for daily deals or Major Nelson’s blog for the complete list of the second week of deals.
