E3 2018: BETHESDA PRESS CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS

This is Bethesda After last year's awesome opening, the Bethesda E3 2018 Press Conference started off with a cool look inside the studio with This is Bethesda. I want to work there. The conference showed off a bunch of cool games, with more of a look at those previously announced and a few new announcements. Plus a few great jokes, including one right at Wallmart regarding the Rage 2 leak. One thing that was prevalent throughout the whole show was the love the devs have for the studio, their games and the fans. Right back at you Bethesda. WHAT A SHOW! You can check out the highlights below. Rage 2 Introduced with a live rock performance, complete with some unsure crowd member shots thrown in the mix. It did set the tone for the game. They showed off a trailer and an extended game-play clip, with heaps of vehicles, a Haloesque ground pound, a Force push ability and awesome looking gun play. Looks crazy. Plus, there are bandits. Jase is pumped. https://youtu.be/ElUxRbCdlRE The Elder Scrolls: Legends More shown from the Elder Scrolls digital card game, now with overhauled visuals and coming to all home consoles (including Switch - everything needs to come to Switch). All progress with carry over to your console version from the current PC and mobile versions too. https://youtu.be/0_cNIP3naDc The…

E3 2017: SONY PRESS CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS

You want games? Sony has games! All the games you want! So the Sony E3 2017 Press Conference starts off with some Uncharted goodness. Then they throw in an incredible looking Shadow of the Colossus remake early on amidst a whole bunch of other games. Then they show some VR hits and misses. Then some very intriguing titles that look different and so very cool. Then, then...! Let me just say it is an awesome time ahead for gaming and this has been a great run of E3 Press Conferences. Oh, in case you want another PS4, there is a limited edition gold one. Because who doesn't like gold? Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Truthfully, I didn't watch this that closely as I don't want story spoilers. Without watching it I'm sure it looks phenomenal... surely! https://youtu.be/i8qzBkHjk_0 Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds More Horizon is always welcome. Didn't give too much away, which is good. https://youtu.be/J5xsS1WZA54 Day's Gone We got to see more of Bend's new game that has been long coming. Looks very brutal, even more so than The Last of Us. Also, is it just me or is that Starkiller? https://youtu.be/4SnXOtfN7VQ Monster Hunter World I know people will go wild for this because it's a Monster Hunter game (Jase?), but I'm not sure about this one. BEST OF THE WEB: HOWLONGTOBEAT

Do you have a ridiculous backlog of games and limited time to play? If you have listened to our VERSUS PLAYER podcast, you have probably heard us talk about HowLongToBeat. HowLongToBeat (aka: HLTB) is the place to go before starting that new game to find out approximately how long a playthrough will take, whether a play just for the main story or for those who like to see everything. Users submit their own play times and the website averages out the times. There are different categories for different play styles, including single player times for things like Main Story and Competitionist. There are also times for speedrunning and for multiplayer. HowLongToBeat shows how many people polled each time and what platform those polled played on. There's information on games, forums, user reviews and more. Here at VERSUS PLAYER we love everything nerdy and want to share with you some of our favourite things on the Internet. Best of the Web is an ongoing series where we do exactly that. If you liked this you might like our previous Best of the Web picks, including Super Mario Bros Crossover, Corridor Digital and James Farr. Happy gaming!
