GAMES ON THE CHEAP: SEPTEMBER 2017

Games with Gold, PlayStation Plus, Humble Bundle and more With Games on the Cheap this month there are a few great somewhat older titles on  Xbox, PlayStation and PC. Infamous, Forza and Rise of the Tomb Raider are the obvious big hitters here. The game I can't recommend enough though is the wonderful Child of Light, a beautiful action role-playing game that deserves at least a try. The title I'm most curious to finally get my hands on is Hatoful Boyfriend, a pigeon dating simulator (nuff said). That and playing through Oxenfree after getting a bit into it on PC and suffering the old too long to go back between play sessions to understand what on earth is going on! Oh, and there is RIGS for those PS VR owners out there as part of the PlayStation Plus offerings. Here are the GAMES ON THE CHEAP for September 2017 Xbox Games With Gold Out from the 1st Forza Motorsport 5: Game of the Year Edition – Xbox One Trials Fusions– Xbox One Hydro Thunder Hurricane– Xbox 360 Out from the 16th Oxenfree – Xbox One Battlefield 3 – Xbox One https://youtu.be/8wPUh3u9J9Y PlayStation Plus Infamous: Second Son – PS4 Child of Light – PS4 RIGS Mechanised Combat League – PS VR That’s You! – PS4 PlayLink Hatoful Boyfriend (PS4 & PS Vita) We Are Doomed (PS4 & PS Vita) Handball…

E3 2017: XBOX PRESS CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS

Project Scorpio is Unveiled as Xbox One X The Xbox 2017 E3 Press Conference started off with what we all love most about E3... new hardware! Phil Spencer walked on stage with applause and cheering appropriate for the champion that he is. Every time he came back on. During the conference 42 games were shown, with 22 games with console exclusivity on Xbox One. This was an E3 Press Conference done right. Microsoft pumped the games out and it was glorious! Also, original Xbox backwards compatibility for Xbox One! Probably the biggest cheer of the show. Oh, and updates to existing games so they look and play better on Xbox One X. This was a show and a half. Bravo Microsoft! Below are my highlights of the show, which really was the whole thing... Xbox One X The most powerful console ever made. Not only will this beast of a console make games look better on a 4K TV, it'll boost games on standard 1080p TVs. Microsoft went through all the impressive specs of the Xbox One X console, including the fact that it's the smallest Xbox ever. https://youtu.be/g-gp-Voq6MQ Forza Motorsport 7 As expected, a new Forza Motorsport is on the way. Also as expected, there was a car on stage. I'm not a car person, but I just love how this has become a…

DICE AWARDS 2017 WINNERS

The DICE Awards 2017 (for games from 2016) were held on the 23rd February at the The Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) celebrated their 20th year of the award show. Since 1996, the D.I.C.E. Awards have recognized games, individuals and development teams that have contributed to the advancement of the multi-billion dollar worldwide entertainment software industry. The D.I.C.E. Awards are the most credible, respected and recognized awards for the interactive entertainment community with voting cast by members of the Academy’s 33,000+ membership base. The voting process is supervised and certified by Votenet Solutions, Inc. interactive.org The show was hosted by Greg Miller and Jessica Chobot. They did a good job, although were underutilized and given no favours by the poor crowd responses (or maybe just an audio issue). There was hardly a laugh heard from the audience in the opening address, which had some really funny moments to it. The DICE Awards 2017 started off with an incredible diorama created by Noodle House. Besides this opening though, the whole show was less flashy than The Game Awards, so you might prefer just to check out the winners below. Now most of the awards were not a surprise, with Overwatch taking home yet again another Game of the Year award, racing gaming going to Forza Horizon 3, Uncharted 4…
